KN95 Mask vs N95 Mask – Current FDA Guidelines Surrounding COVID-19 Pandemic

KN95 Mask vs N95 Mask – Current FDA Guidelines Surrounding COVID-19 Pandemic

Filtering respirator face piece masks are subject to various regulatory standards and compliance guidelines from around the world. These guidelines and standards specify the required physical properties, performance characteristics and functionality necessary for achieving a particular standard within a particular country. During emergency situations such as epidemics and pandemics, health authorities may authorize the use of certain foreign standards of face piece respirators such as N95, KN95, or FFP2 equivalent. This article will seek to identify and describe some of the most commonly available respirator standards around the world as well as provide a summary of the current regulatory framework under the FDA in the United States with respect to the 2019 novel coronavirus and associated COVID-19 pandemic. This article was last updated on May 7th, 2020.

The most common face-piece respirator standards from across the globe are as follows:

    N95/N99 – United States NIOSH

    FFP2/FFP3 – Europe CE EN 149:2001+A1:2009

    KN95 – China GB2626-2006

    Special 1st – Korea KMOEL – 2017-64

    P95 – Mexico NOM-116-2009

    P2/P3 – Australia AS/NZS 1716:2012

    DS/DL2/DL3 – Japan JMHLW-200

N95 Respirator Masks

In the United States, the most commonly available and well-known respirators are the N95 facepiece respirators which filter up to 95% of particles and create an air tight seal around the face. These type of respirator masks are not specifically regulated by the FDA, rather they are regulated by the CDC and NIOSH. The FDA may regulate an N95 mask if the manufacturer chooses to market the mask for a medical purpose, and in such case it would need an FDA clearance. However, on March 2, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA released guidance that certain NIOSH approved respirators not currently regulated by the FDA are cleared to be used in a healthcare setting by health care personnel during the emergency coronavirus outbreak (Source FDA https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/coronavirus-covid-19-update-fda-and-cdc-take-action-increase-access-respirators-including-n95s).

FFP2 Respirator Masks

FFP2 respirator masks are certified by the European Union to meet the standards of CE regulation EN 149:2001+A1:2009 for filtering up to 94% of particles. In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, on March 28th, 2020, the FDA announced that certified European CE EN-149 FFP2 respirator masks are cleared for emergency use under certain conditions when there is a shortage of NIOSH approved N95 respirators: (Source FDA https://www.fda.gov/media/136403/download?from=singlemessage&isappinstalled=0 )

KN95 Respirator Masks

KN95 masks are regulated by the Chinese government under regulation GB2626-2006 and are rated to filter 95% of particles. In April of 2020, in order to help expand the availability of general use face masks for the general public and particulate filtering facepiece respirators for healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA issued guidance authorizing the use of KN95 masks as suitable NIOSH alternatives under certain emergency circumstances (Source:FDA https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/faqs-shortages-surgical-masks-and-gowns and FDA https://www.fda.gov/media/136449/download).

On May 7th of 2020, the FDA updated the April guidance and issued further guidance limiting the use of certain KN95 masks as suitable NIOSH alternatives in a healthcare setting (Source: FDA https://www.fda.gov/media/136664/download).

N95 Masks vs KN95 Masks vs FFP2

N95 and KN95 masks both filter up to 95% of particles and create an air tight seal around the face. Under the current US regulatory framework mentioned above, as of April 8th 2020, the FDA has authorized the emergency use of KN95 masks and  FFP2 masks where there is a shortage of NIOSH approved N95 masks (Source:FDA https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/faqs-shortages-surgical-masks-and-gowns and FDA https://www.fda.gov/media/136449/download).

On May 7th of 2020, the FDA updated the April guidance and issued further guidance limiting the use of certain KN95 masks as suitable NIOSH alternatives in a healthcare setting (Source: FDA https://www.fda.gov/media/136664/download).

Other differences between N95 masks vs KN95 masks are that KN95 masks often use the earloop method of wearing the respirator whereas the N95 masks use a two head-strap attachments, one that goes around the back of the head under the ears and another that goes on the top over the crown of the head above the ears. It really comes down to personal preference in terms of which one is more comfortable for the wearer as well as the level of safety and protection one feels is necessary given the particular activity being carried out.

Personally, I find that the KN95 is easier and faster to put on and take off whereas the N95 seems to fit much more snug and with a tighter and firmer fit. Further, I find that the N95 masks, due to the tightness of the seal, are slightly more uncomfortable to wear, but give a feeling of greater protection. Another factor to consider is that NIOSH approved N95 masks tend to be a little pricier than the KN95/FFP2 variants.

Safe Online Shopping: 10 Tips to Avoid Getting Burned

Safe Online Shopping: 10 Tips to Avoid Getting Burned

You need to buy gifts for the holidays and you need to purchase them quickly. You can either brave the madness of shopping at your local mall or kick back at home and buy all your gifts online. Doing your holiday shopping online can be a great way to save time while you find the right gifts at the best price. You'll skip the parking lot wars, avoid getting the flu from your fellow shoppers, and stay out of pick-pockets' crosshairs. But though it may be easy and convenient to shop in your pajamas, you still need to take precautions to make sure your electronic 'purse strings' are safe and secure. Here are some simple tips for safe online shopping:

Secure your computer. Make sure your home computer has updated security software installed, and run regular system check to keep hackers' keylogging viruses away.

ONLY shop from home. Don't do your online shopping from the local café, the airport or other public places. These open networks are easier targets for identity thieves to hack into your computer. Only shop from your secured home network.

Click carefully. Your favorite store just sent you a great coupon! But wait! Before you click on email links, be sure of where they lead. Scam emails can look just like the real ones from your favorite stores, with links that appear to take you to legitimate sites. But hover over the link and you may see a different web address - this could be a fake site, designed to gather your credit card information for fraud. Your safest bet is to manually navigate to your favorite retailer's website.

Know thy merchant. One of best parts of online shopping is easily comparing prices to find a great deal. You may find the gift you want for half the price - but make sure the merchant is reputable and trustworthy. If you haven't done business with a merchant before, look for online reviews. Using aggregators like Amazon.com and Yahoo Shopping is another good way to make sure your merchant doesn't take you for a fraudulent sleigh ride.

Lock down your site. When you visit a retailer's website, look for "https" at the beginning of the URL. This "s" - along with a small gold lock in the lower-right corner of your browser - indicates an extra level of security for your online shopping.

Log out. Always logout securely when leaving a website.

Check if your payment details are stored. Some online shopping sites ask if you want to store your payment details for future purchases. It's always handy to have your information stored, especially if you use that site often. But, watch out for this on lesser-known websites.

Compare 'real' prices. Make sure you know how much you will be charged for shipping, and if there are any taxes or fees that will be added to your online purchase. These 'extras' can add up quickly, so be sure you include them when comparison shopping. Many retailers offer free shipping around the holidays, and others allow free in-store pick-up of your online purchases - easy ways to add extra savings to your holiday shopping.

Know the Return Policy. Read the merchant's return policy before making your purchase. One of the downsides of online shopping is the inability to 'try it on' or see the item before purchasing, so make sure your merchant offers you an easy way to return/refund your purchase if it's not what you expected.

Choose Credit - not Debit. If possible, use a credit card to pay for online purchases. Federal law limits your liability to $50 in the event of fraud. Better yet, many credit card companies will waive this liability, and offer advanced fraud protection and detection programs to keep you safe.

Keep an eye out. If you are doing a lot of online shopping, make sure to check your account and credit card statements regularly to verify all charges. If you have questions about a transaction or suspect fraud, call your financial institution immediately.

Save your Receipts! Just as with in-store shopping, you'll want to save all your receipts from online shopping. You may choose to save emailed receipts on your computer, or print them out and file with other receipts.

Can CBD Oil Benefit You?

Can CBD Oil Benefit You?

Background

CBD (Cannabidiol) oil is derived from hemp. Many people confuse hemp with marijuana, but hemp is a very different plant. Marijuana and hemp may share the same scientific name, Cannabis sativa, but they are not the same.

Marijuana is cultivated primarily for its psychoactive cannabinoid, a chemical compound called tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, for recreational and medicinal use. Marijuana contains both THC and CBD.

Hemp contains only a trace of THC, less than 0.3% compared to marijuana's hefty 5-35%. The main cannabinoid in hemp is CBD, but there are over 100 other cannabinoids in hemp, as well as compounds that produce tastes and scents called terpenes (e.g. citrusy smell of oranges, unique aroma of pine trees, or sweet flower smell of lavender).

For thousands of years, hemp has been cultivated for food, clothing, fiber, and fuel. It is one of the world's oldest domesticated crops. In the early days, hemp was a vital crop in the U.S. During the 1700s, colonial farmers grew hemp mainly for its strong fiber.

However, hemp production came to a screeching halt when the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 was passed. Mainstream attitudes towards cannabis began to sway greatly towards the negative. Hemp became the "evil weed" because it shares the same species as marijuana even though it does not contain marijuana's abundant THC.

Over the years, many have speculated that the real reason for the anti-cannabis campaign boiled down to the worry that hemp could become a low-cost substitute for paper pulp. American industrialist William Randolph Hearst and the DuPont family had major investments in the timber and newspaper industries. They initiated a smear campaign to destroy the lucrative hemp market for fear that the rise of hemp would undercut their profits. Nevertheless, years later, it became known that hemp does not contain a high enough concentration of cellulose to be an effective paper substitute.

Eighty long years later, hemp finally regained its legal status in the U.S. after the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. Hemp, defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC, is removed from Schedule I controlled substances. Hemp-derived products are legal as long as they come from licensed hemp growers. More and more universities and hospitals have begun to study it. Americans can now use CBD legally. It can be ordered online and shipped to all 50 states.

Marijuana laws are also changing at a rapid pace across America. Even though it is still illegal on the federal level, many states have legalized marijuana. For the remaining states, some have allowed it for medical use and some recreational use.

The Human Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

Cannabinoids made by our own bodies are called endocannabinoids (the prefix "endo" means within). In the 1990s, researchers made an astonishing discovery that the ECS plays a major role in our overall health.

The ECS maintains constant communication with every organ system in the body.

This communication involves messenger molecules called endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors on every cell that accepts them. Think of it as a "key and lock" system. The receptors are locks and the endocannabinoids are keys that bind to these receptors and unlock them.

There are two main types of receptors within the ECS - cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2).

Researchers found more than 1,000 receptors in the body. CB1 receptors are located largely on nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, as well as the eye and retina. CB2 receptors are predominantly found in the immune system and in the organs and tissues, such as brain, spleen, blood cells, gastrointestinal, and urinary tracts.

The body produces two types of endocannabinoids - anandamide and 2-AG. These are transported into the cells through the CB1 and CB2 receptors. As we age, the body becomes less efficient in producing anandamide and 2-AG. The proper functioning of the ECS also depends on the adequacy of omega-3 in the diet.

Many people have experienced the feel good sensation or "high" after strenuous exercise. The lifted mood comes from the release of endorphins. Researchers now know that it is also from an increase in anandamide, which targets mainly the CB1 receptors and, to a lesser extent, the CB2 receptors.

The other endocannabinoid, 2-AG, transmits signals across the brain cells and activates both CB1 and CB2 receptors. 2-AG supports brain health, immune health, as well as insulin sensitivity.

Researchers have now discovered that both endocannabinoids, anandamide and 2-AG, have a considerable impact on a variety of functions including appetite, energy and balance, immunity, memory, metabolism, nervous system, sleep, and stress response.

Evidence For CBD Health Benefits

The Cannabis plant contains over 100 cannabinoids. These compounds closely resemble the human endocannaboids. The main cannabinoid in hemp is CBD, and in marijuana, THC.

Unlike THC, CBD does not bind directly into our cannabinoid receptors. Nevertheless, it does stimulate the activity of both CB1 and CB2 receptors without directly tapping into them. A study by the National Institute of Health found that CBD causes the body to release more endocannabinoids, especially 2-AG. Moreover, CBD inhibits the degradation of anandamide.

Scientists are now beginning to discover many of CBD's health benefits:

Childhood Eilepsy

CBD has been touted for a wide variety of health interests, but the strongest scientific evidence is for its effectiveness in treating two rare drug-resistant childhood epilepsy conditions, namely Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) and Dravet syndrome (DS). The FDA has recently approved the first ever CBD-derived drug Epidiolex for these conditions. In numerous studies, CBD was able to reduce the number of seizures, and in some cases it was able to stop them altogether.

Pain Relief

CBD may offer an option for treating different types of chronic pain: fibromyalgia, gout, HIV, multiple sclerosis, neuropathic, and rheumatoid arthritis. Studies found that applying CBD oil directly on the problem area helps to lower pain and inflammation. CBD works by impacting cannabinoid receptor activity in the body, reducing inflammation, and interacting with neurotransmitters.

Researchers also found that subjects did not build up a tolerance to the effects of CBD, so there was no need to increase dosage continually. Unlike some pain medications, CBD is not addictive and does not have any intoxicating effects, offering much relief for people who have chronic pain.

An oral spray called Sativex, which is a combination of CBD and THC, has been approved in a number of countries in Europe and Canada (but not in the U.S.) to treat pain and muscle spasms related to multiple sclerosis.

Another controlled study found that Sativex significantly improved pain during movement, pain at rest, and sleep quality in people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Anxiety and Depression

Clinical trials have revealed that both marijuana and CBD may be effective in reducing different forms of anxiety including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Not only did participants in the studies felt better, they also reported reduced cognitive impairment and anxiousness. Scientists suggest that in addition to impacting the endocannabinoid system, CBD may influence receptors involved in the modulation of serotonin, a chemical messenger that plays a role in anxiety regulation.

In addition, some studies showed that CBD eases depression and helps with psychotic disorders like schizophrenia. (Please note that marijuana does not help with either and may actually worsen psychosis.)

Cancer-Related Symptoms

Researchers found that cancer patients treated with CBD and THC, the psychoactive compound from marijuana, experienced significant reduction in pain. In addition, a one-to-one combination of CBD and THC administered via mouth spray reduced side effects associated with cancer treatments like nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.

At present, more research needs to be done on whether CBD alone can produce the same beneficial outcomes.

A number of cell culture studies found that cannabinoids can help slow tumor growth, reduce tumor invasion, and induce tumor cell death in various types of cancer, including brain, blood, breast, colon, pancreatic, and prostate.

Scientists believe that CBD probably works by starving cancer cells of energy, making them more sensitive to the body's immune response, and by blocking a newly discovered cannabinoid-related cancer pathway. However, human trials are needed before further conclusions can be drawn.

Other Potential CBD Benefits

Lowers blood pressure (caution if taking blood pressure medication).

Lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and total cholesterol.

Lowers uric acid levels and reduces gout symptoms.

Helps with insomnia due to relaxing and anxiety-reducing effects.

Helps people to quit smoking and is a promising treatment for those with opioid addiction.

Mitigates neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Some research suggests CBD could protect brain cells from damage and oxidative stress. Early results have been broadly positive but more studies are necessary.

Reduces likelihood of developing type 1 and type 2 diabetes, especially at the early disease stages (no human trials yet).

Lessens inflammation and symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease (no human trials yet).

CBD Side Effects And Safety

CBD is generally well tolerated and rarely produces side effects. However, some people should take additional precautions, including:

People with weakened immune system. In cell studies, CBD was associated with decreased activity of T and B immune cells, hence, increasing the likelihood of infections and worsening HIV, tumor growth, metastases, and asthma.

People taking medications. CBD may decrease the activity of liver enzymes, called cytochrome P450, responsible for metabolizing more than 60% of prescribed drugs. Check with your doctor to rule out any interactions as CBD may increase or decrease the effects of your medications.

Use caution when combining CBD with herbs or botanicals in dietary supplements. There is limited research on such interactions.

Use caution when combining CBD with alcohol.

Most people who use CBD do not report any side effects, but some may include a slight decrease in blood pressure, dry mouth, light headedness, drowsiness, gastrointestinal upset, decrease in appetite, and mood changes.

Pregnant, Lactating Women And Children

At present, there is a lack of research regarding the safety of CBD use for pregnant and lactating women as well as children. Please consult with your doctor before use.

Avoid using marijuana while pregnant. Studies show that THC can interrupt the formation of neuronal networks and result in nervous system-related birth defects. Teenagers should not use marijuana either as the THC may have an effect on their developing brains.

Important Considerations When Buying CBD Oil

Do not buy from vendors selling on Amazon. It is hard to verify the authenticity and quality of the products.

It is best to buy USA grown hemp from licensed farmers. China is now a big exporter of CBD oil and has over 10% of the global market.

Only buy CBD products that use the whole hemp plant, not synthetics and not isolates, as the whole plant contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes, the active compounds that give plants their taste and smell. Herbalists believe the terpenes in hemp interact synergistically with the cannabinoids to create an "entourage effect" that enhances the healthful effects of each individual component.

Only buy organically grown hemp utilizing eco-farming practices and without pesticides and herbicides.

Make sure the hemp is processed using CO2 extraction that is gentle, clean, and does not use harsh solvents, ETO (ethylene oxide) or gamma radiation. This method does not require heat and the entire spectrum of cannabinoids are retained in the blend.

Only buy CBD products that are all natural and contain no additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, or flavorings.

When buying CBD oil, the label should indicate how much CBD is in the bottle (in milligrams or mg) and its concentration (e.g. 1 drop = 2.4 mg of CBD).

Only buy from a company that provides third-party lab-verified test results for each batch of CBD it sells. Since CBD oil is not regulated, there is no guarantee the consumer will get what is being advertised by a company. The Certificate of Analysis (COA) verifies that the product actually contains what it claims as well as the concentration of the CBD. It should include an analysis showing the levels of pesticides, herbicides, mold, fungi, mycotoxins, and heavy metals in the product. If the company cannot produce a COA, do not buy its products.

How To Use CBD Oil

First and foremost, there is no addiction with CBD oil. The U.S. federal government puts THC addiction at about 4%. CBD is zero. So there will not be any problems quitting cold turkey.

Additionally, the reason there have never been any deaths linked to cannabis overdose is because our brainstem, which controls our heart and breathing, have hardly any cannabinoid receptors. (The safety of vaping is a separate issue which is still under investigation.)

CBD oil can be taken sublingually, orally or topically. For sublingual use, hold the drops under the tongue for one minute before swallowing. For oral use, add to drinks or a smoothie. For topical use, apply the oil directly to the problem area.

Dosage

Effective dosage varies from person to person and can be different for every ailment or disorder.

For pain, the majority of CBD users use between 10 and 30 mg of CBD per day. Start with 5 mg of CBD on the first day. If you do not notice any positive effects, increase by 5 mg the following day. Repeat this process for several days until you notice positive results.

For psychological disorders like anxiety or depression, start off with an initial dose of 2 mg per day. Increase by 2 mg every day until you notice positive results.

Consistency is the most important part of taking CBD oil. It is good to split the drops between morning and night, taking it roughly at the same time each day. From there, you can adjust the number of drops up or down as you start noticing the impact it has on your body.

Drug Testing

As mandated by U.S. law, full spectrum CBD oil contains less than 0.3% THC. However, depending on the sensitivity of the drug test and the individual, it is possible that one can test positive for THC using full spectrum CBD oil.

Summary

CBD is now legal in the U.S. It comes from hemp and does not give you a "high". It contains less than 0.3% of THC, which is the psychoactive compound in marijuana.

CBD is non-addictive and the body does not build up a tolerance to it.

Studies showed that CBD is quite safe and there are very few reported adverse effects. However, if you have a weakened immune system or are taking any medications, consult with your doctor before using CBD. Use caution if you drink alcohol or are using herbs or botanicals. Pregnant and lactating women and children should check with their doctors before using CBD.

There are now two CBD-derived drugs - one for two rare forms of childhood epilepsy and one for multiple sclerosis.

CBD has natural pain relief and anti-inflammatory properties.

CBD may help reduce anxiety in people with certain related disorders.

CBD, in conjunction with THC, are effective in alleviating cancer and cancer treatment-related symptoms.

Hemp tends to suck up all the harmful chemicals from the soil. Therefore, it is pertinent that the CBD oil comes from plants grown using organic and sustainable farming practices.

Buy CBD products that are whole-plant extracts (not synthetic or isolates) using CO2 extraction that retains the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes.

F.D.A. to Allow Use of KN95 Masks

F.D.A. to Allow Use of KN95 Masks

With doctors, nurses and other health care workers facing acute shortages of protective masks, the Food and Drug Administration announced on Friday that it will allow use of a more widely available mask that meets Chinese standards instead of American ones.

Hospitals across the United States are running out of N95 masks, which filter at least 95 percent of particles that are 0.3 microns or larger, including the new coronavirus. N95 masks are tested and certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, or NIOSH, a research agency that is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Friday, the F.D.A. issued an emergency use authorization for KN95 masks. Regulated by the Chinese government, they are almost identical in performance to N95 masks. There are slight differences in their specifications, like a variation in the maximum pressure the masks must be able to withstand as a person inhales and exhales.

The C.D.C. lists KN95 masks as a suitable alternative when N95s are not available.

The F.D.A. said KN95 masks were eligible for authorization if they met certain criteria, including documentation that they were authentic.

But many hospitals have not been willing to order KN95 masks because of uncertainty over whether imports would be allowed into the United States, as well as potential liability if they turned out to be counterfeit. But for some institutions, that may be a worthwhile risk if the alternative is no masks.

The F.D.A. had on March 24 issued a similar authorization for non-NIOSH masks that met similar standards in other countries in Europe as well as Australia, Brazil, Japan, Korea and Mexico. But it left off China because of concerns about fraudulent masks.

Many N95 masks are also manufactured in China, and the Trump administration is trying to compel companies like 3M to send more of those to the United States.

One Chicago-based company, iPromo, says it has been in the KN95 importing business for a month. It had previously developed relationships with Chinese supplies for its main business, churning out custom logo-adorned promotional knickknacks like mugs, water bottles, USB flash drives and small containers of hand sanitizer.

Is It Time to Buy a Webcam?

Is It Time to Buy a Webcam?

A WebCam, or Web Camera is a video camera that is used to capture real time video images and pass them via a computer to a computer network. The most popular use for a webcam is to set up video conferencing across the Internet amongst friends and family. A lot of modern Notebooks or Laptops come with a web camera already built-in.

This type of network camera is distinct from a network video surveillance device that is used to provide real time images that can be monitored for security purposes. These type of video cameras tend to be more expensive because they have a number of features for playback and storage, and often have to be protected against the weather.

The webcam was first developed within Cambridge university in 1991 in the Science department, with the purpose of allowing lecturers and graduates to view the Trojan Room Coffee Pot, and determine how busy it was before going to order coffee. It wasn't long before the first commercial devices were ready for the market and eventually Logitech became the biggest producer of webcams.

With the proliferation of instant messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP), many millions of people with connections to the Internet want to communicate with friends and relatives worldwide. Skype has become on of the most popular multimedia Internet communications systems on the Internet, and it all started with simple telephony, but now has added features such as video and chat. So now you can talk to your friends worldwide and view a live image of them as you do so provided you have some kind of web camera attached to your PC.

Most webcams comprise a camera lens and an image sensor, rather like a standard digital camera, with a lot of webcams now having a built-in microphone. The cheaper models come with a decent quality fixed focus lens to ensure a good quality image. Most commercial low-cost web cameras incorporate a CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) image sensor which converts light energy into a voltage, which is then converted to some digital format. CMOS image sensors are fairly cheap to manufacture, hence the reason they have become popular in webcam technology. The alternative is to use a CCD (Charge Coupled Device), but these tend to be a little more expensive to manufacture and the image quality is very similar for both devices.

Most webcams are connected to a computer by means of a USB cable, unless otherwise integrated with the computer, but this is mainly with recent Notebooks and Laptops. A development known as the USB Video Device Class, or UVC for short, allows webcams to be integrated with computers, and usually doesn't require the use of specific vendor specific device drivers. All the major operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac OS support this UVC standard. All this makes it easy for a user with no technical knowledge to install and run a webcam quickly and efficiently.

As well as using a webcam for simple communications, many people today also use them to produce low-cost video images for use on social websites such as YouTube. Another area where they are used extensively is online dating sites where men and women can view potential dates rather than just rely on still photographs.

It is important to note that images passed from webcams via computers are utilising some form of computer application, and all computer applications are subject to attack from hackers and mischief makers, particularly on the Internet. For this reason security is just as important for your Webcam application as it is for others such as email and other forms of file transfer. Hackers can use a variety of methods such as Trojan Horse Viruses to activate a webcam, so it is very important to make sure your Internet Security programs are up to date. If you purchase a webcam, then a useful feature to look for are LED indicators, to let you know when the device is live. This will warn you to switch off your webcam when not in use and also warn you when a webcam may be been remotely switched on by a hacker. Webcams are just as safe as any other computer device if you follow the security rules and always keep your anti spyware and anti virus software up to date.

A web camera is generally a low cost device and there are many outlets where you can purchase one of these devices. Many are purchased directly from online Internet retailers and I would recommend doing a little research before purchasing to ensure you are getting the right device, not just in terms of performance, but also in terms of additional features and methods used to attach the physical device to an existing computer or desk. Although most webcams are attached via USB cables, there are many now that allow connection via WiFi or Bluetooth too.

1. Tipo de pragas:

Pragas são de tipos diferentes. Existem formigas, cupins, pulgas, carrapatos, baratas e roedores.

4. Serviços Complementares:

Pragas e roedores causam muitos danos estruturais.

Some Facts About Artificial Intelligence

Some Facts About Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a concept that concerned people from all around the world and from all times. Ancient Greeks and Egyptians represented in their myths and philosophy machines and artificial entities which have qualities resembling to those of humans, especially in what thinking, reasoning and intelligence are concerned.

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science concerned with the study and the design of the intelligent machines. The term of "artificial intelligence", coined at the conference that took place at Dartmouth in 1956 comes from John McCarthy who defined it as the science of creating intelligent machine.

Along with the development of the electronic computers, back in 1940s, this domain and concept known as artificial intelligence and concerned with the creation of intelligent machines resembling to humans, more precisely, having qualities such as those of a human being, started produce intelligent machines.

The disciplines implied by the artificial intelligence are extremely various. Fields of knowledge such as Mathematics, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic, Engineering, Social Sciences, Cognitive Sciences and Computer Science are extremely important and closely interrelated are extremely important when it comes to artificial intelligence. All these fields and sciences contribute to the creation of intelligent machines that have resemblance to human beings.

The application areas of artificial intelligence are extremely various such as Robotics, Soft Computing, Learning Systems, Planning, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Logic Programming, Natural Language Processing, Image Recognition, Image Understanding, Computer Vision, Scheduling, Expert Systems and more others.

The field of artificial intelligence has recorded a rapid and spectacular evolution since 1956, researchers achieving great successes in creating intelligent machines capable of partially doing what human beings are able to do.

Obviously, researchers have encountered and still encounter several problems in simulating the human intelligence. An intelligent machine must have a number of characteristics and must correspond to some particular standards. For instance, the human being is able of solving a problem faster by using mainly intuitive judgments rather than conscious judgments.

Another aspect that researchers have considerably analyzed was the knowledge representation which refers to the knowledge about the world that intelligent machines must have in order to solve problems such as objects or categories of objects, properties of objects, relations between objects, relations such as those between causes and effects, circumstances, situations etc.

Moreover, another challenge for researchers in the field of artificial intelligence refers to the fact that intelligent machines must be able to plan the problems that need to be solved, to set a number of goals that must be achieved, to be able to make choices and predict actions, they must be able learn, to understand the human languages and to display emotions and be able to understand and predict the behavior of the others.

Artificial intelligence is an extremely challenging and vast field of knowledge which poses many questions and generates many controversies but also solves many problems that technology and industry are confronting with today and may offer many answers in the future.

Information On Vinyl Fence Gates

A fence and gate system is important especially if you live in a neighbourhood where security can be an issue. This is also important if you want to provide privacy to you and your family. For years, wood has been the material of preference for fencing projects. However, wood does not last long enough. If it is not treated properly, it can decay faster than projected. When wood decays, there is no other recourse than replacing it. This can get expensive especially if you have to replace it every two or three years. As a solution, a good number of homeowners are now using vinyl instead of wood.

Here are some of the reasons why vinyl is becoming a more popular material for fence gates.

Vinyl is a much more affordable material than wood. In addition to that, it allows you to save on replacement costs because vinyl is more durable that wood. Therefore, you do not have to replace it for a long, long time.

Vinyl is the perfect replacement for wood not only because it is affordable but because it looks like wood. Unless you know it is vinyl, you will not even know it is. Moreover, it is stylish and unique.

Cummins ISX engine for sale

The Cummins ISX is an Inline (Straight)-6 diesel engine produced by Cummins for heavy duty trucks and motorcoaches, replacing the N14 in 2001 when emissions regulations passed by the EPA made the engine obsolete. Originally called the "Signature" series engine, the ISX uses the "Interact System" (hence the "IS" which is the moniker for the full authority, on highway fuel system Cummins pioneered) to further improve the engine. This engine is widely used in on highway and vocational trucks and is available in power ranging from 430 hp all the way to 620 hp 2050 lb-ft. The QSX is the off-highway version of the ISX with the Q standing for Quantum. The QSX is used for industrial, marine, oil & gas and other off-highway applications. Cummins also produced a 650 hp and 1950 lb-ft version for the RV market.

Until 2010 this engine was a dual overhead cam design with one cam actuating the injectors and the other the valve train. This injection system is known as HPI (high pressure injection) where the injectors are cam-actuated to create injection pressure. The fuel system uses an Integrated Fuel System Module (IFSM) with a lift pump, gear pump, pressure regulators, shutoff valve, metering and timing actuators to deliver fuel to the injectors. It has a one piece valve cover that is either plastic or on older models a chrome plated steel cover otherwise known as the Signature 600 or ISX CM570.

In 2002, the ISX CM870 brought cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) which takes exhaust gas and recirculates it back into the intake of the engine lowering the combustion chamber temperatures limiting the formation of NOx.

In 2008, Cummins unveiled the ISX CM871, this engine featured a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which trapped the particulate matter or "soot" produced in the engine. With the help of the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) the soot trapped in the DPF is oxidized and turned to ash during a process called regeneration. In motorhomes this was available as a 600 or 650 HP version.

The current EPA 2010 version known as ISX15 CM2250 features enhanced Exhaust Gas Recirculation, Diesel Particulate Filter and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), also known as Urea Injection. SCR consists of a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF - composed of urea and water) injection system: holding tank, pump, controller, and injector and an SCR catalyst brick. DEF is heated, pumped and injected into a decomposition tube which then reacts with the exhaust reducing NOX. The ISX15 CM2250 and CM2350 has eliminated the injector camshaft due to the advent of the common rail fuel system in which the fuel is pressurized from a high pressure, multiple piston pump, transferred through tubing to a rail where fuel is stored under extremely high pressures up to 35,000 psi.

Trading Options Successfully

Trading options is a profitable enterprise. This can give you a huge sum of money if it is done skilfully. Stock options trading is preferred by many investors as this involves lesser risk compared to futures trading or stocks trading. One should make sure that he'll not get lost in the complexities of the ins and outs of trading.

Option trading details can be substantially clarified through learning the five basic units in the practice of buy and sell and the dynamics of call options and put option. Hire a Plumber

Hire a Plumber

There are many reasons to hire a plumber. You could be in the process of building a new home and have now reached the phase where the plumbing needs to be installed. Or you could be tackling a remodeling project and you need a reputable plumber to move plumbing to a new area or install plumbing to accommodate new fixtures.

A third scenario that might find you in need of a plumber is when your plumbing needs repair. In this instance, the need for a plumber is more than likely an emergency, or it could become one soon. Due to the urgent nature of this scenario, it is easy to overlook the need to find a reputable plumber who does quality work. This can be a costly mistake in terms of not only money but also additional inconveniences if the plumber was not well versed in the trade.

Plumbers offer a wide variety of services. These include the ones that immediately come to mind such as installing new plumbing systems for new houses, fixing leaky faucets and other repairs, and unclogging sinks, tubs and toilets. It may come as a surprise, however, to learn that plumbers must also know how to read blueprints correctly. In addition, a plumber might even be the person to create the blueprints since a plumber will be aware of the applicable codes.

When you are in need of a plumber, it is important to be aware of the criteria that a plumber must meet in order to be employed as a plumber. There is quite a bit involved. Anyone can certainly tinker around with the plumbing fixtures but any extensive work should be left to a master plumber or a journeyman or apprentice that works under the master plumber.

The regulations that govern plumbers vary from state to state. However, most states require that a plumber first work as an apprentice under a master plumber for a certain amount of work hours. This amount can vary by state. In addition, schooling in a variety of trade specific courses is required. Most of the courses will focus on the systems that utilize plumbing such as sewage systems, drainage systems, and systems that manage drinkable water. After successfully completing the course work, it is typical that a state test must be passed before the plumber will be licensed and able to practice the trade.

It is important to ask for the credentials of any plumber you are planning to use. Although the price for the plumber's services is important, be cautious of the plumber who quotes you a lower fee than others you have inquired about. This might be a ploy to hid the fact that the plumber is not properly licensed.

It is better to pay a slightly higher fee and feel secure in the knowledge that your plumber knows how best to perform the job. Using an unqualified person can cost more money in the long term as you might have to hire another plumber to fix that which was not done properly in the first place.

Quality Laundry Products

Quality Laundry Products

I love quality laundry products. Why? What's so invigorating about laundry detergent, fabric softener sheets, a container of Tide, or a cup of Arm and Hammer Clean Burst Powder? Well, think about it. It's a dirty world we live in. We're all scrapping and clawing for everything we get. We rush, rush, rush. We sweat it out at work; sweat it out at the gym; and sweat it out trying to survive the nerves on a first date. We labor to make money, make time, make friends, and make dinner. We break our backs to hold everything together. There's plenty that makes us stink.

So it's nice to put on something nice, soft, and clean smelling once in a while-if only to remind us that life's got its softer side too. In the words of the great TV philosopher Norm Peterson from Cheers: It's a dog eat dog world and most of us are wearing milk-bone underwear. So it's kind of a safe-haven to know that we can get up each morning and slip our canine-bitten rears into some jockey shorts that have been cleansed and caressed by that cute little teddy bear on the Snuggle fabric softener box.

Without laundry products, imagine what kind of world we'd live in. Remember the stinky kid in fifth grade that never took a bath and that everyone gave a dollar to in order to get him to eat something gross? Well, I got news for you; take away the Wisk, All, Tide, and Arm and Hammer Mountain Rain and suddenly we're all the smelly kid. Imagine going out on a date with a girl who smells like your fourth period gym socks in junior high. Imagine sitting in a business meeting while wearing a sports jacket that reeks of the residue left when your two-month old spit up on it last week. Not a pretty picture is it.

And so, my friends, my point is simply this: be grateful for the little things in life we take for granted every day. Be grateful for the coffee maker that makes it easy for you to fix a satisfying cup of coffee right there in your kitchen each morning. Be grateful for the mouthwash that makes your breath bearable and guarantees that there must be another reason why no one will go out with you. Be grateful for your friends who, although they borrow money and won't pay it back, to this day have not sold you out by telling your wife or significant other about the year you spent in Vegas cross-dressing, headlining at a gay bar, and insisting people address you by your professional name "Madame Testosteronia." And be grateful for laundry products. They keep us clean, freshly scented, and soft as a baby's backside. Yes, Norm Peterson, it might be a dog eat dog world; but who cares when your milk-bone underwear smells Downy fresh?

25 Surprising Benefits Of CBD Gummies

25 Surprising Benefits Of CBD Gummies

How about a bit of history before we begin? No, no, no, don’t go away! It’s relevant. We promise. So let’s talk gummies.

The first gummy candy (shaped like bears) was invented in Germany almost 100 years ago. Seventy years later, in the late 1990s, two natural-foods advocates mixed up a batch of gummy vitamins in order to get their kids to take a daily multi.

Now it seems like gummies are everywhere. We’ve got gummy this and gummy that. So it’s really no surprise that sometime in the last five years, some canna-genius was inspired — probably in a haze of joint smoke — to combine CBD and gummy candy into the ultimate medicinal confection: CBD gummies.

At this point, you’re probably asking, “But why do we need another method of consuming cannabis?” Our answer? Because each method offers a number of different benefits.

1) Easy To Take
Do you have trouble swallowing pills? Do you feel like the pills will get caught in your throat? Do you think you’re going to choke? If that’s you to a T, CBD gummies will feel like a gift from the canna-gods.

That’s because CBD gummies are super easy to take. All you have to do is chew and swallow. There’s no long and involved prep work required, no waiting a half-hour before swimming. Just chew and go.

Unless you’re one of those unfortunate individuals who can’t walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. If that’s you to a T, you may want to finish chewing first and then go.

2) Non-Psychotropic

CBD gummies are non-psychotropic. That means they won’t get you high. It doesn’t matter how many you eat, you’ll never get your world to go psychedelic. You have to take THC for that.

In fact, no CBD products will get you high because of the way that the cannabinoid interacts with your brain. So whether you choose CBD gummies, or CBD oil, or CBD cream, you should never feel like you’re falling off the floor. If that happens, there was more in whatever you took than just CBD.

3) More Effective With Less Product
To help explain this benefit, we’re going to reduce two natural processes to their most basic explanations:

Your stomach lets things through
Your lungs keep things out
Both organs are remarkably good at their job. That means that if you choose to get CBD through your lungs (via smoke or vapor), you’ll need to take in a lot to get a little through to your brain.

But if you choose to get CBD through your stomach (pills, CBD gummies, edibles), you won’t need nearly as much to feel the effects.

Basically, you get more medicinal bang for your buck. So instead of smoking 0.7 grams of CBD ganja four times in sixteen hours, you’d only need to pop two CBD gummies during that same time period.

4) Long-Lasting
Your digestion and circulatory system operate at a relatively slow pace. If they didn’t, your body would be flooded with nutrients and then have nothing. Instead, your stomach delivers its contents slowly over time so the food you eat lasts longer than just an hour or two.

The same concept applies to the CBD gummies you chew. The CBD in the gummy is released slowly over a period of hours, providing long-lasting relief for your pain or anxiety.

That’s in sharp contrast to the effects you get from smoking your CBD strain in a joint, blunt, or bong. Those effects reach their peak in an hour or less and then taper off to nothing.

5) Gentle On Your Lungs And Throat

The harsh smoke of a heavy bong hit can make even the most experienced pot smoker hack up a lung. CBD gummies, on the other hand, won’t irritate your lungs and throat like marijuana smoke will.

That may not seem like a benefit for you hard-core, give-me-a-joint-or-give-me-death cannabis purists. But for those who just need CBD for medicinal purposes, it’s one of the biggest benefits of all.

Even though weed smoke isn’t packed full of chemicals like cigarette smoke, it can still irritate your lungs and throat and lead to inflammation. CBD gummies produce no smoke, no smell, no respiratory irritation.

6) Available Online
CBD products are often produced from hemp, which is a legal plant in all 50 states. That means hemp isn’t subject to the same laws that are causing so many problems and so much confusion these days.

By extension, then, CBD gummies are pretty much legal everywhere and can be shipped by commercial carriers across state lines. And because they are so easy to ship, one of the best places to find CBD gummies is online.

If your local dispensary doesn’t stock CBD gummies, you’ll be able to find a wide variety at your favorite internet shop. You may have to pay a bit more for shipping, but they’ll arrive on your doorstep ready for use.

7) Easy To Dose

Whatever brand of CBD gummies you choose to buy, always follow the instructions when first starting. After that, you can increase or decrease the dosage according to your needs. There’s very little risk of getting too much CBD, so don’t be afraid of an overdose or negative side effects.

For example, if the instructions tell you to take two CBD gummies with every meal but you need extra relief, you could double the dosage and take four CBD gummies with every meal instead. Your stash wouldn’t last as long, but you’d get the relief you need.

On the other hand, if the instructions tell you to take two CBD gummies with every meal, you could try taking just one with every meal. That would essentially double your stash and stretch your CBD gummies supply.

8) Can Be Used Discreetly
One of the nicest benefits of CBD gummies is that you can use them very discreetly. They look exactly like gummy vitamins and gummy candy, so you don’t have to worry about keeping them hidden.

And taking them doesn’t require anything more than popping one in your mouth. No eye dropper bottles or drops under your tongue like with CBD oil. No dermal patches on your arm. Just an easy, discreet way to get the CBD you need.

9) Cause Minimal Side Effects

CBD gummies produce only two side effects:

Dry mouth
Decreased ability to metabolize medication
Dry mouth happens a lot with cannabis, regardless of the strain you choose or the way you consume it. And many people who take CBD gummies for medicinal reasons would gladly take a slight case of dry mouth over their pain, anxiety, nausea, or seizures.

However, the cannabidiol (CBD) in CBD gummies can decrease your liver’s ability to process pharmaceutical medications. That can have very serious consequences if the CBD gummies you take don’t treat the other ailments the pharmaceutical medications do.

Be sure to talk to your doctor before adding CBD gummies to your daily routine.

At this point, you might be wondering if the lack of side effects in your CBD gummies makes it easier to overdose. In truth, it’s nearly impossible to ingest too much CBD.

Even if you had 100-percent pure CBD, you’d need 33 tablespoons to feel any adverse effects. You’re not going to get that in your CBD gummies.

10) Taste Delicious
We’re not one to complain about the taste of marijuana products. But we have to admit that they aren’t the tastiest treats out there.

Ask anyone what their favorite flavor is and you’ll get answers like chocolate, strawberry, cherry, and watermelon. We’d pretty much bet the farm that you won’t hear anyone say, “Sour Diesel is my favorite flavor!”

Marijuana, in its most basic form, has a very earthy flavor and odor. And that’s great when you’re smoking a doobie, but not so great when you’re eating ice cream…or taking your daily vitamin.

CBD gummies, on the other hand, come in a variety of delicious, fruity flavors. They don’t taste like dirt. And they don’t taste like grass. That’s a major benefit in our book.

11) Temper The Negative Effects Of THC
We’re all familiar with the reality-altering effects of THC. Heck, that’s why we take it — to get a break from the mundanity of everyday life.

But sometimes, we get a bit carried away and go a few steps over the line of what’s a good high and what’s a bad high. Even if we’re expert at achieving that good high, we still have to contend with paranoia, memory loss, and drowsiness.

But did you know that CBD counteracts all these negative effects? It’s true. CBD is like a chaperone at the high school dance — it keeps THC from running amok and causing all sorts of debauchery.

So if you want to cut short a bad trip, temper the paranoia of your regular trip, or just come down faster, pop a CBD gummy or two and you’ll be on your way.

12) Contain Antioxidant Properties
The CBD in CBD gummies is also an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect both your body and brain by removing harmful molecules called free radicals.

When free radicals build up in your body, they can lead to all kinds of health problems. One particularly egregious problem caused by free radicals are neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer’s disease.

By destroying the free radicals that cause neurodegenerative disorders, the CBD in CBD gummies works as a sort of shield against debilitating brain disorders.

13) Prevent Development Of Cancer Cells In Mice

No, scientists aren’t feeding CBD gummies to mice and rats, but they are testing the effects of CBD on those mice and rats (lucky them, right?).

And the results from those studies are very promising. It seems that CBD acts as an antitumoral in those furry lab subjects. CBD does this by:

Inhibiting functions in the body associated with cancer
Preventing tumor cells from spreading
Interfering with cancer cell growth
Inducing tumor cell death
Let’s make it clear that absolutely no studies show that CBD prevents cancer in humans. But a major reason for that lack of data is that few to no tests have been performed on humans (yet).

As the legality of marijuana continues to spread, we’re sure humans will be the next test subjects. We’ll certainly volunteer!

14) Act As A Digestive Aid
When you introduce high amounts of CBD into your brain, it acts like a digestive aid by stimulating your appetite and reducing nausea.

This is good news for patients with cancer (or those being treated for cancer). Many types of cancer, and even the treatments used to prevent them, will decrease a person’s appetite directly.

Other types of cancer (and treatments) increase nausea, which has a negative effect on appetite (who wants to eat when you feel sick to your stomach?).

That increase in nausea and reduction in appetite prevent the cancer patient’s body from finding the energy it needs to heal itself. But with CBD, the nausea disappears, the appetite returns, and cancer patients can focus on getting better.

Even if you don’t suffer from cancer, severe nausea, or loss of appetite, the CBD in CBD gummies can help stabilize your cravings for food.

15) Possibly Suppress Seizure Activity
Seizures — violent shaking and loss of control — originate in the brain as interruptions in electrical activity. That makes them difficult to treat with conventional methods.

But cannabinoids like CBD show promise as an effective treatment for this debilitating disease. Patients like Charlotte Figi, who suffers from Dravet syndrome, take high amounts of CBD and report a significant reduction in seizure activity.

You probably won’t feel the effects unless you take a whole bottle of CBD gummies (don’t do that!), but even the small amount of CBD in one gummy can reinforce your brain’s regular electrical activity.

If you suffer from seizures, talk to your doctor about taking CBD gummies throughout the day as a supplement for your regular treatment.

16) Relieve Pain And Swelling

CBD interacts with the vanilloid receptors in your brain to relieve pain and swelling in other parts of your body.

This is good news for those who suffer from chronic pain and disorders such as fibromyalgia.

Again, you might not feel total relief if you just take a CBD gummy, but the more CBD in your system the better. And that CBD gummy may act like a preventative measure to keep your body running smoothly and you feeling healthy all the time.

17) Reduce Anxiety And Depression
High amounts of CBD can reduce anxiety and depression. It does this by interacting with two specific parts of your brain:

Adenosine receptors
Serotonin receptors
The adenosine receptors play a large role in governing how you experience anxiety, while the serotonin receptors are involved with depression.

If your adenosine receptors are active, your anxiety level will be low. But if those receptors aren’t working correctly — as in many anxiety disorders — your anxiety level will be high.

Similarly, if your serotonin receptors are active, you’ll feel good. But if those receptors aren’t working correctly, your mood will fall and you’ll feel depressed.

There is, of course, a lot more science involved, but CBD helps keep both your adenosine receptors and serotonin receptors running at 100-percent all the time.

As with all the other health benefits on this list, you may not feel relief from just one or two CBD gummies, but they can’t hurt. Talk to your doctor about increasing your intake of CBD to combat anxiety and depression.

18) Promote Relaxation

With so much going on in your busy life, you might find it hard to relax at the end of the day. When you’re on edge like this all the time, you’ll start to feel worn out even after a good night’s sleep.

The CBD in CBD gummies interacts with your brain and body in a way that results in feelings of calmness and relaxation even during times of high stress.

19) Improve Focus
Another unique benefit of CBD is that it increases focus and helps you ignore distractions.

CBD doesn’t make distractions disappear altogether. What it does do is make it easier for your brain not to fixate on the distractions and pull you away from the task at hand.

This is great for office workers and students who find themselves trying to focus on complex tasks while surrounded by noise and activity.

20) Normalize Blood Sugar Levels
Diabetes is a growing epidemic in the United States and affects the lives of millions of people. Treatment for this disease relies on a combination of diet and insulin injections to keep blood sugar levels in a normal range.

CBD, though, can help stabilize blood sugar levels so that the peaks and valleys aren’t so pronounced.

21) Facilitate Sleep

Sleep deprivation takes many forms — from not being able to fall asleep to waking up too often during the night.

Taken at the right time, CBD can help overcome these difficulties. CBD allows you to “turn off” your brain, relax, fall asleep faster, and stay that way throughout the night.

22) Reduce Risk Of High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is one of the symptoms of heart disease that can lead to heart attack and stroke.

CBD may contribute to lower blood pressure levels both in stressful and non-stressful situations. As mentioned in an earlier section, CBD also exhibits natural antioxidant properties.

Antioxidants help remove plaque and other substances that can group together, form a clog, and cut off blood flow to your brain or other parts of your body. Without those obstructions, your blood flows smoother and your blood pressure goes down.

Research is still on-going, but results from human and animal tests show that CBD can help decrease heart rate and blood pressure levels in those with high numbers.

23) Kill Or Slow Bacterial Growth
Although no comprehensive study exists to support this property of CBD, scattered research (some dating back to the 1950s) suggests that CBD has antibacterial properties. CBD has even proven effective at fighting drug-resistant strains like MRSA.

Initial theories about why CBD is effective at slowing bacterial growth — or killing it outright — have to do with:

The structure of the CBD molecule itself
Its ability to control lipid (fat) affinity
The way the CBD molecule interferes with vital processes inside the bacteria
More tests are necessary in order to prove definitively that CBD is a potent antibacterial, but early results are promising.

24) Stimulate Bone Growth
CBD interacts with your body’s naturally occurring cannabinoid system to stimulate two types of cells involved with bond growth: osteoblasts and osteoclasts.

Osteoblasts create new bone. Osteoclasts resorb and remodel bone in response to external stress.

The effect CBD has on bone growth is especially beneficial for those with brittle bones due to age, degeneration, and other diseases.

25) Effective For A Wide Variety Of Ailments
One of the coolest things about CBD gummies is that they can be used to treat a wide variety of medical issues. Here are just some of the disorders that the CBD in CBD gummies can treat:

Schizophrenia
Psychosis
Lupus
Parkinson’s disease

Are You Using a Safe CBD Oil

Are You Using a Safe CBD Oil

CBD oil is becoming one of the hottest new products on the market today. In fact, annual sales of CBD oil products in 2018 was nearly 600 million and is estimated to be growing at a rate exceeding 107 percent annually. Prior to 2017, CBD products were available only in head shops, natural food stores, and at a few doctor's offices. Since that time, the market has exploded and CBD products are now available in natural food stores, national food stores, beauty salons, nail salons, convenience stores, and even gas stations. But, are these CBD products manufactured from safe CBD oil?

First of all, let's examine what we mean by safe CBD oil. Some reports indicate that as much as 40% of the CBD products on the market tested positive for heavy metals like lead and arsenic, concentrated chemical pesticides, bacteria, fungi, toxic mold, THC, and numerous other dangerous impurities. Most people would agree that products containing these impurities would be considered to be unsafe.

Most of these unsafe CBD oil products are grown and manufactured in China, Mexico, and numerous third world countries that do little or no oversight in the products they sell.

One of the most common and dangerous impurities commonly found in tainted CBD products is chemical pesticides. These chemicals are used to kill insects and other organisms that can be harmful to the plant. According to the Toxics Action Center, "Pesticides have been linked to a wide range of human health hazards, ranging from short-term impacts such as headaches and nausea to more serious health problems like cancer, reproductive damage, and endocrine disruption." It could be very dangerous to ingest any type of tainted CBD product if it is contaminated with pesticides.

The best and safest products available on the market are those in which the hemp is grown in the United States and the oil is produced in a food-grade facility. And, of course, it must be tested by a reliable, third-party facility. If you're looking for a safe CBD oil product with consistent high-quality and levels of CBD, look for suppliers located in the U.S. who use only U.S. grown hemp. In addition, look for suppliers that whose products are thoroughly tested for purity, quality, and cleanliness. And, as an added measure of safety and quality, many of these manufacturers are regulated by state agencies.

As an example of this type of state oversight, CBD manufacturers located in Colorado must register with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Then, they must meet several requirement such as demonstrating that industrial hemp produced in that facility does not contain more than three-tenths of 1 percent of THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana that causes one to get high.

Make Money By Betting Online

Make Money By Betting Online

Betting online might seem like a bit of a risky hobby, but if you do it right, you can turn it into a profession almost overnight. Thanks to the internet, betting is now as easy as sending an email, through the dozens of online betting websites and bookmakers. You simply log on, view the odds, choose your team and place your bet.

But betting is gambling right? Even online betting? Not any more.

You can make money by betting online as long as you have the right information about the teams and the players. It helps to know about the league, the season, the referee, the fans, and pretty much everything else, but it's not vital. As long as you know plenty about the game in hand, you can make a well informed decision about who is most likely to win before you place your bet online.

Why do you need to know all this? For two reasons:

1) To help you predict the outcome, whether that be a win lose or draw. Knowing the outcome of the game means you can pick and choose bets to give you the best odds and biggest returns. Generally, always try to bet on a team being the winner, even if they're not your favourite team. Although, as we'll see later on, betting on the winner may not always be the best thing, so that's not a hard and fast rule.

2) Helping you understand the online bookmakers process of generating odds. They have access to the same information you do, so you can start to see where they've shaving the percentages off to make their profit, and so avoid greedy bookies who are giving poor odds for their online bettors.

And that's vitally important. When you're betting online or offline, knowing everything about the game isn't the whole story. You've got to find the best bets available to you to maximize your win-rate. That means the dead certainties, the easy money. The odds will likely be lower on these bets, but that's OK. They keep your win-rate high, and stabilize your betting career.

Once you've got betting online down to an art, and a system of websites and bet choices that you're happy with, you can start scaling the whole process. Place larger bets online for the better bets so your winnings increase, and maybe even branch out to other online betting websites so you can place the same bet on several sites and get around any "maximum bet amount" limits.

The great thing about betting online is that it's easy and scalable. If you were doing this offline in the real world, you'd be running around dozens of betting shops all over town, managing dozens of betting slips, trying to remember where you placed which bet to collect the winnings... betting online is so much easier - you sit in front of your computer, and the websites track everything for you. All you've got to do is keep checking your bank account, and watch the wins pile up.

Success in betting relies on having a good system. If you can find (or develop your own) a good system for picking your bets, you can be successful and profitable from day 1.

What Really Is CBD and How Does It Work?

What Really Is CBD and How Does It Work?

CBD is the short form for cannabidiol. It is an important phytocannabinoid that is found in the hemp and is known to support the mind and the body in lots of different ways. CBD products in the shape of Cachets also contain cannabinoids, which have CBD extracts.

What makes CBD work?

How does CBD get to work? The body of humans contains a large network of constituent receptors, the system of endocannabinoids, which is critical to maintaining the overall wellness, along with helping the support systems for many of the physical processes in our body. Cannabinoids and CBD fit inside these receptors that help the human body with its efforts in maintaining good health.

Experience better health with the use of the CBD

You get to enjoy a sense of calmness and more focus. CBD affects learning positively and it also motivates learning. It is also helpful in reversing the symptoms of the Alzheimer disease. You can get a heart that is healthier by the use of the CBD. CBD has a lot of benefits that it brings to the heart, these include the capability of lowering high levels of blood pressure. You also get relief from the stresses that are part of your daily life. CBD has been known to provide therapeutic cures for symptoms like stress and anxiety, thus helping in the reduction of psychological levels of anxious behavior. It also helps in reducing the feeling of depression and anxiety.

The miracle of CBD

CBD is just a molecule, not any miracle. A lot of people can reap the significant benefits if they are provided access legally to these wide variety of remedies of cannabis, not merely to no THC or low THC products. CBD by itself may not always be enough to get the trick to work. There is a lot of compelling evidence to prove that CBD functions best when it is combined with the likes of THC and the entire spectrum consisting of other components of cannabis.

To be able to figure out how to go about optimizing your therapeutic application of cannabis has been the driving factor that is behind one of the greatest experiments in the days of democracy. The result of this finding is called medical marijuana and it has been observed from one state to another and one country to another in the very recent years.

The coming up of the very potent oil concentrates of cannabis, CBD rich non intoxicating products and highly innovative and smokeless systems of delivery have changed the therapeutic area. This has also led to a huge change in the public conversation around cannabis.

This is not any more a subject of debate if cannabis has enough merit as a potent herbal medication - as of today, the main challenge is in understanding the utilization of cannabis to get maximum therapeutic benefits.

What Is Additive Manufacturing and What Are Its Applications?

What Is Additive Manufacturing and What Are Its Applications?

There are many manufacturing processes in the world and many industries which use the same manufacturing processes. However, the one that is widely used is the additive manufacturing technique. Usually, in a normal manufacturing process the end product is produced by chiseling and carving the raw material into the desired product. However, this is not the case with the additive process.

In this manufacturing process, the structure of the products is created by adding layers of material one over the other in a significant way to create the end result. The layers added are minuscule and thin and is added with the help of cartridge filled with the desired material. The cartridge sprays the material slowly one layer over another in a gradual process to create the final result. The entire procedure is guided and handled by CAD software and a computer which acts as a printer to print the product.

Advantages of additive manufacturing

Some of the benefits of using this manufacturing technique are:

One can create products and final results which are complex and those which cannot be created using traditional methods. One can create a huge variety of shapes and figures as they will not be carved out of a single unit but will be produced using gradual layering.
The products which are created are also better in terms of strength and durability as there are no chances of flaws and weak points in the product. Also, the process of additive manufacturing helps in protecting the environment as compared to factory methods.
The additive manufacturing also makes the process of production flexible in terms of resources as one can make changes in the design easily.
The process is also cost and time effective meaning the process gets completed much faster with the help of CAD software. This is the reason why most of the companies are choosing this process over the traditional ones.
Applications of additive manufacturing

Some of the applications where additive manufacturing is used extensively are:

Turbos and turbines: the production of turbines is greatly helped by additive production processes these days. Mostly aerospace industry uses the technique to create lightweight turbos in minimum costing and designing complexity. Also, it helps in reducing the time consumption all the while keeping in mind safety.
Orthopedic implants: there are many kinds of products and implants that are used in the industry of dentistry like crowns, dentures, bridges, etc. All these products are created by the additive manufacturing techniques, these days to reduce the cost and also to reduce the production time keeping in mind the safety and quality standards.
Repair: these days the tool repairing is also done with the help of additive manufacturing, which is also called as metal laser sintering. This makes the downtime less and also help in optimizing the functioning life of the tool.
Jewelry: to create new and more intricate designs of the jewelry additive production processes are used. This way one can achieve the new and unusual kind of designs with complete metal density. This also helps in lessening the production time and cost.

Human Hair Wigs Versus Synthetic Hair Wigs

Human Hair Wigs Versus Synthetic Hair Wigs

The debate continues as to which are better, human hair wigs or synthetic hair wigs. In the end, most people are able to come to the same general consensus: for a natural look, nothing beats a human hair wig. For price, synthetic wigs are best. Here are some more benefits and disadvantages of human hair wigs and synthetic hair wigs.

Longevity - Human hair wigs last longer than synthetic ones, when properly cared for.
Styling - You can use hot styling tools, like curling irons and blow dryers, on human hair wigs, but not on synthetic ones!
Heat - Similarly, if you have a human hair wig, you do not have to worry about standing near heat sources like hot, open ovens and barbecues and fireplaces.
Dye - You can style and dye your human hair wig however you choose. Of course, it is not recommended that you dye your wig multiple times, because doing so could potentially damage it.
Natural styles - Because you can continually change the style of a human hair wig, it makes a much better option for anyone who plans to wear the wig every day - it is much more natural to have a different style every once in a while.
Natural feel - Human hair wigs feel much more natural when you run your fingers through them - after all, they are made from natural hair!
Breathability - Wearing a synthetic wig can make your scalp perspire because of the lack of breathability. Human hair wigs breathe much better.
Keep its style - A benefit of a synthetic hair wig is that it will keep its style, after being washed. You must style your own human hair wig after it has been washed.
Price - Another big benefit of synthetic hair wigs over human hair wigs, as mentioned before, is the low price.
Remy - There are, of course, inexpensive human hair wigs. But it is important to note that most of these wigs are likely made from hair that has been processed and stripped of the cuticle. The best human hair wigs, like most products, are the most expensive ones. These are the ones that are monofilament wigs made from "Remy" or "European" hair.
Why must many of the human hair wigs undergo such processing? Well, most of the hair used to make wigs comes from Asian countries like China. Therefore, most of the hair donated is black and straight. Of course, not every one wants a wig made from straight, black hair. Some people want blond hair wigs or wavy hair wigs. To get these looks, the hair must be processed - it must be bleached and chemically treated. This processing damages the hair.

Remy human hair wigs are made from hair that still has the cuticle in tact. If you are spending a great deal of money on a human hair wig, you want to be sure that it is a Remy wig or a European one.

Understanding Different Types of Soccer Betting Odds

Understanding Different Types of Soccer Betting Odds

We found this amazing site which is the greatest resource for online soccer betting, providing players with all the information they need before they make a wager. The popularity of soccer betting comes from the high popularity of the sport itself. Millions of people watch soccer to either cheer on their favorite team or just to get a hand on the adrenaline of the game. The most important difference between soccer betting and other forms of gambling is that it takes some time to become profitable and start earning real money. However once you have learned some basic tips - as outlined here, you'll be able to enjoy higher than average returns on your wagers.

The trick in soccer betting is studying past soccer games to get a feeling for what the best odds are and to be able to tell if one team is going to win or not. While this may sound like an obvious piece of advice, you'd be surprised at how many players loose site of the "big picture" when betting on soccer games.

There are also many soccer tips you can find online forums that analyze game stats. Probably one of the best soccer betting tips is to take a look at all the online sports books before making your first bet; different sports books offer different bonuses and different odds, all of which affect your bottom line as a sports bettor. Therefore, simply taking some time to choose the best odds will put you in the right track to win big. Some of the best sports books online are William Hill, Ladbrokes, 888 Sport and Bet 365.

Soccer betting odds are not as favorable when the point spread (also known as an 'Asian handicap' is involved. So for beginners it is recommended to start playing with straight bets. This type of betting is also known as 1X2 where 1 is the home team, 2 is the away team, and X is a tie.

Because the skill in picking a winner based on a point spread is more difficult we recommend going with 1X2 wagers as predicting which team is going to win without giving an exact amount of points is a simpler task. Other ways to get a winning start when betting on soccer is to simply bet on the home team each time. While the odds are usually lower on home teams - they outperform both tie bets and away teams by a wide margin.

Benefits of Electronic Waste Recycling

Benefits of Electronic Waste Recycling

Electronic waste is a popular and informal name for electronic products on their last gasp of life and belongs to the group of hazardous wastes because of the high number of dangerous chemical compounds such as cadmium (used in motherboards), silicon, lead and mercury (used in monitors), arsenic, chromium, phosphorus, beryllium and plastic that are hazardous to human health and they are major pollutants too. So, the question is why don't people use their nearest recycling facility and get rid of these devices? The problem is that the electronic and electrical equipment is recycled much harder than other materials. It takes a special electronic waste recycling company to do this job. Since we have mentioned some of the benefits of electronic waste recycling let's highlight the most important ones.

Reduces the level of water, air and soil pollution - As previously mentioned, electronic waster contains toxic chemicals that are not dangerous only to human health, but also to the environment in general. People who are surrounded with electronic waste risk developing some serious diseases and experiencing certain medical conditions because they are breathing these harmful substances. The same goes for e-waste left unprocessed on the ground. If this waste is left outside, once it starts raining or snowing the chemicals found in it will enter the soil and eventually reach the streams and rivers. This means that the water we drink will contain some amount of chemicals too. This is one of the main reasons why more and more people use electronic waste recycling companies.

It protects the natural resources - As you are probably aware, most of the resources we found in the nature are non renewable. The process of electronic waste recycling allows separation of these valuable materials and their recovering. In this way new products can be produced by using the same materials. In this way we are able to reduce pollution, save energy and protect the resources.

Reduces the space needed for landfills - Waste is a global problem and all governments are looking for a way to reduce the space need for landfills. Planet Earth will be even more polluted if we expand the landfills. Sometimes, these landfills are covering areas that are suitable for agriculture or even for housing. Some of the wastes left in landfills cannot dissolve and that's when the real problems begin. This is the case with electronic waste for example. The worst thing is that the number of this waste is dramatically increasing because electronic devices are becoming more and more popular all over the world. By practicing electronic waste recycling you will be able to reduce the space needed for landfills and directly reduce the pollution.

Creates Employment - If all people become aware that this type of recycling is important then more new electronic waste recycling companies will be opened and the existing ones will employ more workers that will help the process. In this way you can support your local economy and protect nature at the same time.
